Air Blows On Floor Not In Front Vents

Ac only blowing through defrost vent and not coming out of the main front vents.

There is a motor that controls the selection of where the air. I have a 1991 s 10. Had to play with the switch to get it to blow. The air won t blow out the dash vents.

During battery replacement the control module for the mode actuators may lose its memory. No air from floor vents or defroster vents only front vents. Owners have reported several instances of the air conditioning not blowing through main dash vents or only blowing through the floor and defrost vents. I have heard some people say it is probably a vaccum hose issue.

Often this is experienced after replacement of the battery. I get good heat and air conditioning from my front vents but when i select floor or defrost vents the air still only blows from front vents. Where the air comes from when vacuum is lost the system defaults to the defrost mode. Any one know what i need to do to fix this problem.

I can only get air to blow out of the defroster vents or the floor vents no matter if i use heat or a c. If an ac vent is not blowing air in one room in your home then close the vents in other rooms either partially or wholly to improve the airflow to that room.
